Good news for North-East Delhi! Burari Metro Station is in its trial phase as part of the Pink Line Metro extension. The Phase 4 extension of the Pink Line, is set to open between 2025-26, which will have Burari, Sonia Vihar, Bhajanpura, Jagatpur Village and Jharoda Majra stations. This new stretch will bring improved metro connectivity to North and Northeast Delhi.
Phase 4 is a major venture being developed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which will comprise 44 new stations over three major corridors, one of which is the 12.3 km long Maujpur-Majlis Park corridor with eight stations: Sonia Vihar, Burari, Jharoda Majra, Jagatpur Village, Soorghat, Sonia Vihar, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, and Yamuna Vihar. A short portion of the corridor between Majlis Park and Jagatpur Village is 4.6 km long and is almost done, with trial runs beginning in December 2024.
This only represents the stations Burari, Sonia Vihar, Bhajanpura, Jharoda Majra and Jagatpur Village. The rest of the stations along this corridor are being completed and expected to be operational in 2025-2026.

How It Will Help Daily Commuters?
- Shorter travel time: People in Burari, Sonia Vihar, Sabhapur Extension, Wazirabad, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda Majra and nearby areas will get direct metro access instead of relying on long bus or rickshaw rides.
- Better connectivity: With the Pink Line becoming more complete, commuters can travel across different parts of Delhi more easily, with fewer changes of metro lines.
- More reliable transport: Metro services are generally more punctual and less affected by traffic jams. This means daily journeys (school, work etc.) become less stressful.
- Cost cut: Savings on time and transport cost, better access to jobs, educational institutions and markets. Areas that were far from good transit will now be closer.
Soaring Property Prices In Burari Due To Metro Connectivity
When a metro station is established in a locality, property prices in the sub-locality typically increase because people like to live near the metro so that they can save travel time. Easy travel and better connectivity make that place more desirable, so property prices go up.
The same thing is happening for Plots in Burari, homes that were already expensive are now soaring even more because of the metro. For a normal family, buying property here has become almost impossible.
Even before the Pink line metro extension opens, Burari has seen sharp increases in property rates. For many common people, lower- or middle-income workers, the current prices are already hard to afford.
Neevilas Homes-An Alternative in Delhi
If you want to buy a property in Delhi but are finding places like Burari too expensive, there is still hope. Neevilas Homes offers alternative Plots in Sabhapur Extension that are more affordable yet still benefit from the metro network, like Sonia Vihar, only 2.5km away.
Neevilas Homes is positioned in such a prime location that it gets good access to upcoming metro lines, making sure homebuyers don’t pay premium prices just for connectivity. Choosing such alternatives can help you live closer to transport, without breaking the bank.
In conclusion, the upcoming new metro station in Burari is a game changer for the daily commuters who had to go to Vishwavidyalya or GTB Nagar Metro station or other metro stations to commute to faraway places like farther locations in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida or Gurugram. But the new metro station has spiked the already soaring property prices in Burari, which is now out of reach of the common man.
But Neevilas Homes comes with an affordable option for first-time home buyers who want a property near the metro station.
